Manchester Creative Digital Assets Limited (MCDA) is a new company set up to manage, develop and physically expand the assets funded by Manchester City Council to grow the digital, production and creative sectors.

The assets include The Sharp Project , The Space Project, and One Central Park. MCDA has a public and private board chaired by Susan Woodward. Sir Richard Leese, leader of Manchester City Council, will sit on the Board along with non-executive directors from the private sector. Manchester City Council is the company’s only shareholder.

The company will identify gaps in provision and bringing forward strategies to provide support to digital businesses. The Board’s objectives are to ensure the company drives growth in the creative and digital sector.

The Sharp Project

The Sharp Project is home to over 60 businesses from across the creative digital sector, including gaming, digital forensics, digital agencies, CGI and video production, photography and tech innovators.

Additionally, The Sharp Project features a range of green screen spaces for digital content production, small to large scale event space, The Campus communal meeting area as well as super-fast connectivity, 24/7 access and security.

The Space Project

The Space Project is a purpose built facility for large scale TV & film production with 5 acoustically treated stages, prop storage / workshops and production facilities.


The site has more than 55,000 sq.ft. of high spec stages plus purpose designed dressing and make up facilities, laundry, prop storage / workshops, onsite catering and extensive secure parking.
